Course and purpose

The course is set inside White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery and runs along private boulevards lined with American flags. The route passes monuments dedicated to veterans and service members from conflicts as far back as World War I. The organizer describes the course as flat. Since 2016 the race has operated as a charity fundraiser in partnership with the Michigan Wounded & Returning Warriors Program, part of the American Legion family of organizations, to benefit Michigan veterans and their families.
