Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra
BC Athletics presents the 16th annual Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra in Whistler, British Columbia. The event uses Whistler Olympic Plaza on Blackcomb Way as its central location and includes pre-race packet pickup in Burnaby and Whistler and additional weekend activities.
Distances and formats:
- 50 miles relay, teams of 4 or 8
- 50 km solo, five 10 km loops, must be completed within 9 hours 30 minutes
Relay details: teams of eight complete one 10 km loop each; teams of four complete two consecutive 10 km loops each. The solo 50 km is described as a beginner ultra and the course layout keeps runners within 5 km of the race site.
Logistics and policies: Race Roster displays processing fees in pricing and GST is applied where required. There are no refunds from BC Athletics except when the optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program was purchased during registration. Entries may be transferred to another person for a $10 fee if completed by September 30 and transfers must remain within the same sub-event. BC Athletics may cancel or change the route for reasons such as fire bans, air quality, weather, wildlife, safety concerns, pandemic, construction, or other unforeseen events with no reimbursement. Cancellation timing affects transfer or deferral options.
The event supports fundraising for the Whistler Food Bank and notes it takes place on the shared unceded territory of the Squamish Nation and the Lil'wat Nation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
