Event overview
The Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra is presented by BC Athletics and takes place in Whistler, BC, at Whistler Olympic Plaza. The 2026 edition is the 16th annual running of the event and is scheduled for October 3, 2026. The event acknowledges that it takes place on the shared unceded territory of the Squamish Nation and the Lil’wat Nation. Fundraising for the event includes a campaign for the Whistler Food Bank, with $79.35 raised toward a $2,500 goal. The Resort Municipality of Whistler is listed as a financial supporter.

Race format and logistics
The 50-mile relay is open to teams of either eight members (each member runs one 10 km loop) or four members (each member runs two consecutive 10 km loops, for 20 km each). The solo ultra is run as five 10 km loops and must be completed in under 9 hours 30 minutes. Packet pickup is available in Burnaby at Fit First Footwear on October 1 and at Whistler Olympic Plaza on October 2.
Registration and policies
Refunds are not offered by BC Athletics unless a participant purchased the optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection during initial registration. Entries may be transferred to another person for a $10 transfer fee if completed by September 30 and kept within the same sub-event. BC Athletics may cancel or change the route for safety reasons; in case of cancellation more than two months before the event entries may be transferred to a future date, and cancellations less than two months before the event may receive a reduced-value deferral credit.
