Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra : event description
Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra is presented by BC Athletics and takes place at Whistler Olympic Plaza, Blackcomb Way, Whistler, British Columbia. This is the 16th annual edition and the event is held on the shared unceded territory of the Squamish Nation and the Lil’wat Nation.
The event offers two main formats: a solo ultra and a 50-mile team relay. The solo covers 50 km in five 10 km laps and is described as a beginners ultra; runners are never more than 5 km from the race site. Relay entries are for teams of four or eight. Each loop is 10 km: an eight-person team has each member run one loop, while a four-person team has each member run two consecutive loops (20 km). The solo 50 km must be completed in under 9 hours 30 minutes.
Registration fees change by registration period and displayed prices include mandatory charges. Race Roster now shows processing fees upfront and GST applies. BC Athletics does not offer refunds except through the optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection purchased at registration. Entries may be transferred to another person for a fee and under specified deadlines. BC Athletics reserves the right to cancel or change the route for safety or other reasons with no reimbursement; alternative transfer or deferral arrangements may be offered depending on timing.
