This free 12-hour event invites participants to run or walk as many 5-mile loops as they like on shaded trails. Enjoy a social, laid-back atmosphere with a community potluck aid station. Everyone completing at least 10 miles receives a finisher award.

Whispering Pines 12 Hour Endurance Race

The Whispering Pines 12 Hour Endurance Race takes place on a 5-mile looped course at Whispering Pines City Park. The trail consists of a mix of single-track and double-track paths with surfaces of packed sand and pine needles. The course includes gentle hills and is mostly shaded. Each loop crosses two paved roads within the park.

Participants can start the course from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. They may complete as many loops as they wish. A check-in with the timing crew is required after each loop. A finisher award is given to everyone who completes at least 2 loops (10 miles).

An aid station with standard trail food and drinks is located at the Start/Finish area. Participants are encouraged to contribute snacks or drinks to a shared "potluck." The event is free to enter, though donations are accepted to cover costs like park rental and insurance. Any remaining funds will be donated to the park.

Check-in for participants opens at 6:15 AM and remains open until 4:00 PM. The event has a capacity of 185 runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
