Whinlatter Forest Trail Runs - May 2027

The Whinlatter Forest Trail Runs take place in Whinlatter Forest in the Lake District National Park on Sunday 2 May 2027. The event offers two measured trail distances over forest paths and rugged terrain.

Distances

• Half Marathon : 13.1 miles, notable elevation and forest climbs.
• 10K : 6.2 miles on trail; climbs and descents.

The runs start on the north side of Whinlatter and finish on the south side. Routes pass through forest trails with firm surfaces, climbs, fast descents and sections where the underfoot is uneven. The area provides panoramic views across Keswick, Skiddaw, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake.

The event is Canicross friendly. One controlled dog per participant is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Timing is provided by live chip timing from Timing Up North, with real-time results.

All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a beer or soft drink and a snack. A custom event T-shirt is available as an optional extra for £14.
