Event overview
Whinlatter Forest Half Marathon & 10K takes place on Sunday 24 May 2026 at Whinlatter Forest in the Lake District National Park. The course runs from the north side of Whinlatter to the south side. The location offers views across Keswick, Skiddaw, and Derwentwater and contains forest trails, wildlife and rugged hills.

- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 10K Trail Run - 6.2 miles
Both routes use firm trail paths with significant elevation changes, including steep climbs and fast descents. The event is canicross friendly: one controlled dog per participant is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead. Timing is by live chip timing provided by Timing Up North with real-time results.
All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a beer or soft drink and a snack. A custom event T-shirt can be added for £12. Standard entry prices listed are £30 for the half marathon and £27 for the 10K; options that include a T-shirt are also listed at higher prices.
