Event overview

The Whinlatter Forest Half Marathon and 10K takes place on Sunday 24 May 2026 in Whinlatter Forest, Lake District National Park. The course starts on the north side of Whinlatter and finishes on the south side. The route uses forest trails with firm surfaces, steep climbs, and fast descents. Panoramic views include Bassenthwaite Lake, Keswick, and Skiddaw.

Additional information

The event uses live chip timing managed by Timing Up North with real-time results. The race is canicross friendly - one controlled dog per participant is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a beer or soft drink, and a snack. A custom event T-shirt is available to add to an entry for £12.

Subsidised parking is available on-site and is paid after the event at Forestry England pay machines. Registration opens 30 May 2025 and closes 20 May 2026. Listed entry prices are: Half Marathon £25 + fee, 10K £22 + fee; T-shirt entry options have higher fees and limited remaining places.
