Whinlatter Forest Trail Runs
Whinlatter Forest Trail Runs take place in Whinlatter Forest in the Lake District on Sunday 2 May 2027. The event offers two measured trail distances through forest tracks and rugged hills, with views across Keswick, Skiddaw, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake. Runs start on the north side of Whinlatter and finish on the south side.
Distances
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, hilly trails with panoramic views
- 10K - 6.2 miles, firm paths with climbs and descents
The course includes firm trail paths, steep climbs and fast descents. The event uses live chip timing provided by Timing Up North for real-time results and accurate finish times. The event is canicross friendly: one controlled dog per participant is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times.
All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, event merchandise, a beer or soft drink and a snack. A custom event T-shirt is available for an additional £12.50. Subsidised parking is available on site with payment taken after the event at Forestry England pay machines. Entry prices listed are £26 for the 10K and £28 for the half marathon.
