Whinlatter Forest Half Marathon & 10K
This event takes place on Sunday 24 May 2026 at Whinlatter Forest in the Lake District. The route starts on the north side of Whinlatter and finishes on the south side. The terrain includes firm trail paths with steep climbs and fast descents, offering open forest tracks and upland views of Bassenthwaite Lake, Keswick, Skiddaw, and Derwentwater.

- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 10K Trail Run - 6.2 miles
The event welcomes Canicross participants; one controlled dog per entrant is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Timing is provided by live chip timing with real time results and accurate finish times. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a beer or soft drink, and a snack. A custom event T shirt is available to add to entries for £12.
Subsidised parking is available on site and parking fees are paid after the event at Forestry England pay machines. The course is described as technical and scenic, with notable elevation changes and forest trail conditions that suit runners prepared for hill terrain.
