About the race
Where the Wild Things Run is a trail event at Caw Caw Interpretive Center in Ravenel, SC that features a 5K on natural trails. The course is a loop with a water station and includes varied surfaces such as hard-packed trails with roots, grass, and boardwalks. Occasional areas of uneven terrain are present and strollers are not recommended. Pets are not permitted at the venue.
Advance registration is required and on-site registration is not available; registration closes on March 3. Packet pick-up is available on-site. Registrations received after 2/19/27 may not receive guaranteed shirt sizes. Participants ages 10 to 15 may register but must be accompanied on-site by an adult chaperone; the chaperone does not have to run.
A separate short-distance Wild Kids Dash is held before the 5K. That untimed kids event requires separate registration for a fee of $5 and includes a finisher medal. A parent or guardian must be present for the Wild Kids Dash.
An award ceremony with food and beverages will follow the event. Accessible parking and restrooms are available and all trails are of a natural, unimproved surface. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
