Event overview
The Twelfth Annual McElveen Cocoa Cup 5K takes place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Brown Family Park at Nexton in Summerville, SC. The event is organized by Fleet Feet Charleston and includes a main 5K race and a one-mile kids run for ages 12 and under. At the time shown on the race page the 5K event was sold out; the kids run showed very limited availability. Entry fees listed were $40 for the 5K and free for the kids run.

The 5K participants receive a commemorative hoodie, a free cup of hot cocoa, and other participant items. Race day activities include a holiday costume contest and a photo booth with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event is held rain or shine and refunds are not issued. Strollers are welcome and pets are asked to remain at home. Packet pickup is offered on the days before the race at Fleet Feet Mt Pleasant (881 Houston Northcutt Blvd) and Fleet Feet Summerville (117 E Richardson Ave), and on race day at the race site under Fleet Feet tents. Proceeds benefit East Cooper Community Outreach, the Lowcountry Food Bank, and The Navigation Center; past efforts have contributed over $200,000 to local charities.
