WeSwimRun - Tal-Y-Llyn (Eliminator Swimrun)
The Eliminator Swimrun returns to Tal Y Llyn on Saturday 22 August 2026. The event takes place around Llyn Mwyngil at the foot of Cadair Idris in Eryri - Snowdonia National Park, with the race base at the Tyn Y Cornel Hotel, LL36 9AJ.
Each lap measures 5.2 km, combining running and swimming, with a maximum of six laps available for a total race distance of 31.2 km.
- Each lap: 5.2 km (4.6 km run, 600 m swim)
- Maximum laps: 6 for 31.2 km total
Running is generally on hard surfaces such as paving and tarmac and is fairly flat with small undulations. There are two swim exit points that include very short sections of trail. The 2026 course removes previous busy road sections. Organisers provide indicative lap times that decline across laps 1 to 5 (45, 40, 38, 36, 34 minutes) and do not specify a time for lap 6.
Race kit guidance includes a wetsuit, trail running shoes, and a whistle. Participants collect race bibs and swim hats at registration. The race is affiliated with British Swimrun. A cooler variant of the event may be held on a different date; when run, water temperatures are expected to be around 10 to 11 degrees Celsius.
