WeSwimRun Aberdyfi Eliminator Swimrun
The Eliminator Swimrun in Aberdyfi is a multi-lap swimrun event held in Aberdyfi, a small fishing village on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere. The event offers a potential of six laps with a total distance of 12 km.
Each lap contains 1.3 km of running and 700 m of swimming, broken down as:
- Run 1: 280 m
- Swim 1: 520 m
- Run 2: 910 m
- Swim 2: 180 m
- Run 3: 130 m
Competitors may complete up to six laps. The organiser publishes estimated lap times for laps 1 to 6 as 26, 24, 22, 21, 20 minutes respectively, with lap 6 described as full speed ahead; these times may be subject to slight change on the day. The tidal nature of the estuary means transition distances can vary slightly depending on tides.
The event is the Sprint Final in the My Swimrun Championships. Age categories listed for the championships are under 40 and 40 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
