About the race
The Eliminator Swimrun in Aberdyfi is a multi-lap swimrun event held in Aberdyfi, a small fishing village on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere. The event date is 26 June 2027. Entries are listed as opening soon.
Racing is built around six identical laps. Each lap comprises about 1.3 km of running and 700 m of swimming. The lap breakdown is:
- Run 1: 280 m
- Swim 1: 520 m
- Run 2: 910 m (men); 810 m (women)
- Swim 2: 180 m
- Run 3: 130 m
The women's course uses a short chute that reduces the total running distance by about 100 m. The organiser provides indicative lap targets for pacing; lap times are given as estimates and may be adjusted slightly on the day depending on conditions. The tidal nature of the estuary can cause small variations in actual transition distances.
