WeSwimRun Aberdyfi
The event is an eliminator swimrun held in Aberdyfi, a coastal fishing village on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere. The race is scheduled for 21 June 2026.
The format allows a potential of six laps, with a maximum total distance of 12 km of combined running and swimming. Each lap covers 1.3 km of running and 700 m of swimming. The organiser sets target lap times that reduce with each lap; these times may be adjusted on the day.
Each lap is composed of shorter run and swim sections:
- Run 1: 280 m
- Swim 1: 520 m
- Run 2: 910 m
- Swim 2: 180 m
- Run 3: 130 m
Age categories follow the My Swimrun World Championships structure: under 40 years and 40 and over. The Aberdyfi race serves as the Sprint Final in the My Swimrun Championships series.
The tidal nature of the estuary can cause small variations in transition distances depending on timing at each point. Past editions include photos and published results, and the event has run pilot and long-course formats in earlier years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
