Community Canal Run
The Community Canal Run is organised by Channel Events in partnership with Taunton Running Club. The next scheduled race date is 28/12/2025. The main start location is YMCA Bridgwater, Friarn Avenue, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 3RF. The main finish is at COACH in French Weir Park, Taunton. The event follows the canal tow path alongside the River Tone and is held off road.

The 14-mile route follows the tow path for the whole distance from YMCA Bridgwater to French Weir Park. The 7.5-mile option starts from Maunsel Lock; participants will be given options for how to complete this distance. The run is free to enter but registration is required for planning and insurance. The event will not be timed and no medals will be awarded. Organisers will not provide aid stations; participants are encouraged to use three cafes on the route: Purple Spoon at YMCA, Maunsel Lock Tea Rooms, and The Weir at COACH. Canal and River Trust have given permission and waived the licence fee. Apex Medical and Rescue are providing donated medical cover.
