About the race
The West Yorkshire Trail Run takes place across the Harewood House estate, set within more than 100 acres of landscaped grounds, rolling parkland and woodland. The route passes notable estate features including Wall Side Plantation, Sugar Hill, and views near the Emmerdale television set.
Runners pass the Eccup Reservoir, described as the largest body of water in West Yorkshire, and continue through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood before returning alongside the estate lakeside. The course includes varied trail surfaces and measurable elevation gain on each distance.
Distances available
- 22k full route with about 262 m elevation gain
- 13k medium route with about 188 m elevation gain
- 8k short route with about 102 m elevation gain
Event services and measures include chip timing, a high quality metal finisher medal, finisher goodies, a refreshing drink and a personalised certificate. The event provides first aid cover, on course refreshments, course marshals and an event photographer. The route is fully signed using pink arrows and pink tape and hazards and junctions are marked with caution signs. The event operates a plastic free policy so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Bib numbers are collected on arrival using a QR code and should be displayed clearly on the front. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
