Danefield Relay Fell Race
The Danefield Relay is a three leg fell relay held on Wed 8 Jul 2026 at Danefield Park in Otley, in the York Dales region of England. The race is organised as a team event with teams of three and a minimum age of 15.
Each leg covers about 4.8 km (approximately 3 miles) and includes around 170 m of climb. Team categories include Male Open, Male Vet 40 plus, Ladies Open, Ladies Vet 40 plus, Mixed and Mixed Vet 40 plus. There are no separate junior races.
Pre-entry is available via an online entry form and entry on the day is also permitted. The entry fee is £12 per team; payments are made on the night. The course in use was revised in 2018.
The event holds a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance provided through the FRA. Team course records listed include Ilkley Harriers 00:50:53 in 2023 for the male record and Horsforth Harriers 01:05:10 in 2023 for the female record. Fastest individual leg times recorded on the current course are 16:26 for the male leg in 2023 and 19:22 for the female leg in 2019.
