Danefield Relay Fell Race
The Danefield Relay is an evening fell relay organised by Horsforth Fellandale on the Otley Chevin and Danefield area. Recent editions have used a roughly 3 miles course with about 558 ft of ascent, following paths through Chevin Forest and Danefield.
The event is staged as a team relay. In 2024 the club recorded 135 competing teams completing the course. The relay has been run in successive years with results and finish lists produced after each event.
Entries for the 2026 running are handled by an online entry form. For 2026 the race is scheduled for Wednesday 8 July, with pre-entry closing at 5pm on Sunday 5 July. Entry is managed via Google forms linked from the event information.
The event is presented as a community evening race using existing forest and fell paths. Participants should expect a short, undulating route across wooded and open fell terrain typical of the Otley Chevin area. Logistics such as entry procedures, team composition and any route updates are published by the organisers ahead of each year’s race.
