West Chicago Step Into Spring 5K
West Chicago Step Into Spring is a community running event on April 10, 2027, presented by Healthy West Chicago. The event starts and finishes at Reed-Keppler Park by Zone 250 (250 W National Street, West Chicago, IL) and uses the Illinois Prairie Path for a certified 5K course. A separate 1 Mile Youth Run is offered for younger participants.

- 5K Run/Walk certified course on the Illinois Prairie Path.
- 1 Mile Youth Run for children 10 and under.
Pre-race packet pick up is scheduled at the ARC Center at the West Chicago Park District; race day packet pick up and race day registration take place at Reed-Keppler Park. All 5K runners receive a Fit4Fall 5K shirt and a custom medal post-race; the first 75 participants to claim their registration package receive a swag bag. Registrations include categories for adults, students, and West Chicago residents. All registrations are final with no refunds, cancellations, or transfers. To guarantee a shirt size, registration must be completed by March 20, 2027.
Event features include a race day raffle with various prizes, health and wellness vendors, post-race refreshments, race photos, and pre- and post-race stretching and massage services provided by local partners. Strollers are allowed but note part of the route is not paved; dogs are not permitted. Proceeds support Healthy West Chicago community programming.
