Event
The Wentworth Castle Gardens Trail Runs take place on 10 June 2026 at Wentworth Castle Gardens, Park Drive, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S75 3EN. The event offers two distances:
- 5km : open to runners aged 11 and over
- 10km : open to runners aged 15 and over
The routes run on parkland paths and woodland trails through the estate and pass historic landmarks.
Practical information
The venue is a Grade I registered landscape covering about 500 acres and includes features such as the Rotunda, Serpentine Bridge, Stainborough Castle, and areas of ancient woodland. The event is Canicross friendly: one controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North with instant results. All finishers receive a medal, a merchandise item, and a snack and drink. A custom event T-shirt can be added during registration for £12. Free on-site parking is available for participants and spectators. Entry fees are listed from £24 to £27. Registration opens on 04 July 2025 and closes on 07 June 2026.
