Welshpool 10K
Welshpool 10K is a road running event in Welshpool, Powys, scheduled for Sunday 4 April 2027. The event brings together a wide community of participants with motives including fitness, competition, charity and personal challenge. Participants range from first time runners to competitive athletes.
Race headquarters and the start and finish are at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool SY21 7JQ. The race village is within a short walk of town centre car parks, shops, cafes and a local park. Some public car parks are used for race parking; access to certain car parks is restricted on race day.
The route is a single undulating loop on fully closed roads that begins and finishes in the town centre. The course runs along Welshpool High Street, Berriew Road, Red Lane and through the Powis Estate, and it passes Powis Castle. Water is provided at the finish and all finishers receive a medal.
Road closures are in place for runner safety. Spectators are asked to follow marshal instructions and may find good viewing on High Street and on pavements along the route. The event enforces a 90 minute cut off time; slower runners may be asked to withdraw. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers and to 14 age group winners. Donated proceeds go to Parkinsons UK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
