Welshpool 10K
The Welshpool 10K is a town-centre road race in Welshpool, Powys, scheduled for Sunday 4th April 2027. Race headquarters, start and finish are at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool, SY21 7JQ, and the race village is a short walk from local car parks, parkland, shops and cafes.
The event brings together a broad mix of participants, from nervous first timers to competitive runners. The course is a one-lap, undulating route run on fully closed roads and includes sections through the Powis Estate and past Powis Castle. The route passes along Welshpool High Street, Berriew Road and Red Lane before returning to the High Street.
Organisers provide a help desk at Race HQ, water at the finish and a unique finisher’s medal. Timing uses a race cut off of 90 minutes; roads are reopened in line with this pace. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male).
Residents should expect temporary road closures on race day and are advised to follow local diversion routes and the instructions of marshals. Spectators are asked to remain off the course until runners have passed and are encouraged to use pavements and designated viewing areas for safety.
Charity proceeds are directed to Parkinson’s UK Cymru. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
