Welshpool 10K
The Welshpool 10K is a town centre road race that brings together a varied community of participants taking part for fitness, competition, charity, health or enjoyment. The event welcomes a range of abilities from first timers to competitive runners.
The course is an undulating one lap that starts and finishes in the town centre on fully closed roads. The route runs through Welshpool High Street and Berriew Road, includes Red Lane and the Powis Estate, and returns to the High Street. Race HQ is located at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool, SY21 7JQ. The race village is a short walk from local parks, car parks, shops and cafes.
Road closures are in place for runner safety and are managed by marshals and diversion routes. Spectators are asked to remain off the course until runners have passed and are advised that pavements along the route provide viewing space. A race cut off time of 90 minutes applies and participants who fall behind this pace may be asked to withdraw.
Finishers receive water and a commemorative medal. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers plus 14 age group winners. Donated proceeds support Parkinsons UK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
