Welshpool 10K
Welshpool 10K is a road running event in Welshpool, Powys, that brings together a community of participants with reasons including fitness, competition, charity, health, and fun. Participants range from nervous first timers to competitive runners.
The course is a one lap, undulating road route that starts and finishes in the town centre on fully closed roads. The route includes Welshpool High Street, Berriew Road, Red Lane and the Powis Estate and takes in views of Powis Castle. Finishers receive a medal.
Race headquarters is at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool, SY21 7JQ, a short walk from several town centre car parks. The race village is close to the local park, retail shops, cafes and eateries. Public parking is available in town centre car parks; some car parks have restricted access prior to the event.
Road closures are in place for runner safety. The event sets a 90 minute cut off time and roads are re-opened in line with that pace. Residents who need to leave during closures are advised to move vehicles before the closure time. Marshals manage the course and spectators are asked to stay off the route until runners have passed.
Prizes are awarded for the top three female and top three male finishers and for 14 age group winners. The event works with Parkinsons UK as a charity partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
