Welshpool 10K : Welshpool, Powys
The Welshpool 10K is a town-centre running event held on Sunday 4 April 2027 in Welshpool, Powys. The race headquarters and start/finish are at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool, SY21 7JQ, a short walk from several town-centre car parks, shops, cafes and a local park.
The course is an undulating one-lap route on fully closed public roads. The route passes Welshpool High Street, Berriew Road, Red Lane and the Powis Estate, and includes a fast start and finish section and views of Powis Castle. Roads are closed for runner safety and marshals will manage the course; spectators are asked to stay off the running line and may watch from pavements and High Street areas.
The event accommodates a wide range of participants, from nervous first-timers to competitive runners. Organisers provide water at the finish and a unique finishers medal. There are awards for the top three female and top three male finishers plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male). A race village and help desk will be located near Race HQ with music and event signage.
The race has a 90-minute course cut-off; roads will re-open in line with this pace and participants who fall behind may be asked to withdraw. Donated proceeds support Parkinson’s UK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
