The Welshpool event is a town-centre road race held on Sunday 22nd March 2026. The main distance is 10K run as a single lap on fully closed public roads. The event is organised for a mix of participants, from first-time runners to experienced competitors.

Course and logistics

The undulating one-lap route starts and finishes in Welshpool High Street and passes Powis Castle. Key route streets include Welshpool High Street, Berriew Road, Red Lane and Powis Estate. Race HQ and the start/finish are at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool, Powys SY21 7JQ. The race village is a short walk from local parks, town centre car parks, shops and cafes. Roads on the route will be closed for the event; marshals will manage the course and spectators are asked to stay off the running line. A race cut-off time of 90 minutes applies; roads will reopen in line with this pace.

Support, prizes and charity

Water and a finishers medal are provided at the finish. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male).
