About the race
The Welshpool 10k is a one-lap road race held in Welshpool, Powys. The course starts and finishes in the town centre on fully closed roads and follows an undulating route that passes Powis Castle and sections of Welshpool High Street, Berriew Road, Red Lane and the Powis Estate. The route features a quick opening section and a faster finish area, and the organisers provide water at the finish and a unique finisher medal. Race headquarters and the start/finish are located at 42 Broad Street, Welshpool, SY21 7JQ, a short walk from several town centre car parks, retail shops, cafes and the local park.
Specific public car parks are indicated for arrivals from different directions; note that access to some car parks is restricted on race day. The event uses fully closed roads for runner safety and asks spectators to follow marshal instructions and remain off the course until runners have passed. Organisers apply a 90 minute race cut off; roads are reopened in line with this pace and slower runners may be withdrawn for safety.
