Wellington Marathon : Race weekend information

The Gazley Volkswagen Wellington Marathon takes place on 28 June 2026 with race day activity based at Hnry Stadium in Wellington. The event includes multiple race distances and a separate Kids Mile. Every finisher is awarded a medal at the finish.

Race pack collection is held the day before the event at Gazley Volkswagen, 38 Kent Terrace, Wellington. Race packs contain the programme, race number, timing chip and any purchased T shirts or stadium parking tickets. Late entries are accepted at pack collection. Race packs may be collected on behalf of another entrant if the collector has the entrant’s confirmation.

All race day operations are centred at Hnry Stadium. Race HQ is located at Aisle 18. Secure gear storage is provided at Aisle 11 using the detachable bag tag from the race number. First aid is available at Aisle 19 and at aid stations on the course. Toilets and showers are available inside the stadium; food and beverage outlets operate at Aisle 13. Post race massage is offered in the Pavilion Bar for a fee, cash only.

Car parking at Hnry Stadium requires a pre-purchased ticket collected at race pack pick up; the stadium is approximately 1 km from major train and bus stations. A free shuttle bus runs between the CBD and Hnry Stadium. The full marathon includes a first-lap cut off at 22 km and course controls close later in the day; after controls cease participants are on the course at their own risk.
