Waterfront 5K - Wellington
The Waterfront 5k is a summer 5k series organised by Wellington Scottish during the 2026/27 season running from 27 October 2026 to 23 March 2027. Races take place on Wellington's waterfront and follow a route past local landmarks to a turnaround on Oriental Bay.

Registration and logistics are handled both in person and online. In-person registration and race bib pickup, plus bag drop, are at Sports and Rec on Taranaki Street. Online registration is available for the first race. The entry fee is $6.50.
Course and event operations The course starts near the diving platform and runs past Te Papa, across the bridge by the marina, around the Clyde Quay wharf, and along Oriental Bay to the turnaround just past Carlton Gore Road before returning to the start. Marshals are positioned at the Clyde Quay wharf turn, the traffic turnaround at the north end of Clyde Quay wharf, and at the turnaround. The waterfront is popular with beachgoers and cyclists, so participants are asked to be courteous to other users.
Schedule The 2026/27 series includes multiple race dates; Race 3 is scheduled for Thursday 10 December 2026. Participants must be present and have paid to be eligible for spot prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
