Wellington Running Events
The Wellington 5k, 10 Miler, and Tower Challenge take place in Wellington, Florida, with the start and finish lines located at Tiger Shark Cove Park. This event marks its 20th year of operation, with proceeds benefiting the Kids Cancer Foundation and various local charities.
Participants can choose from three distinct event options:
- 5k: A running event on a paved path along Greenbrier Boulevard.
- 10 Miles: A course through the Wellington Environmental Preserve at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Everglades Habitat.
- 10 Mile Tower Challenge: A distance of 10 miles including an ascent and descent of a 5-story observation tower.
The 10 Miler route utilizes a variety of surfaces, including paved paths, shell rock roads, and boardwalks through wetland habitats. The course for the longer distances passes through the Wellington Environmental Preserve located on Flying Cow Road. During the Tower Challenge, the climb occurs at approximately mile 6 of the race.
The organizers provide water and Gatorade at stations located along the course for the 10-mile participants. These races are intended for runners preparing for autumn half and full marathons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
