Wellfleet Sprint Triathlon
The Wellfleet Sprint Triathlon is a fundraising sprint tri held at Long Pond in Wellfleet, Cape Cod. The event supports WOMR, Outer Cape Cod’s non profit community radio station.
Distances include:
- 1/4 mile swim
- 10 mile bike
- 5K run
The swim takes place in a calm kettle pond. The bike course runs through undulating roads inside the Cape Cod National Seashore. The run offers expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean. The event is USAT sanctioned; results count toward national and regional rankings and all USA Triathlon rules apply.
Logistics noted by the organizer include day before and morning packet pickup, and a requirement that participants present photo ID and proof of USAT membership when picking up packets. Participants may not pick up packets for others; all relay team members must be present to collect a team packet. There is no parking at the race venue on race day; participants and spectators must use parking at Wellfleet’s First Congregational Church and then walk or bicycle to the start. Bikes will not be allowed to leave transition until all bikes are off the course.
Relay entries are available as two person or three person teams in male, female and mixed categories. A virtual entry option is offered.
