Wellfleet Sprint Triathlon
The Wellfleet Sprint Triathlon is a fundraising event for the nonprofit community radio station WOMR held at Long Pond in Wellfleet on Saturday, June 5, 2027. Registration opens January 1, 2027. The event includes individual racers and 2 person or 3 person relay teams.
The race distances are:
- 1/4 mile swim in a calm kettle pond
- 10 mile bike through roads inside Cape Cod National Seashore
- 5K run with views of the Atlantic Ocean
The venue has no onsite parking on race day. Participants and spectators use parking at Wellfleet First Congregational Church and then bicycle or walk to the start area. Packet pickup is available the day before the race and the morning of race day; all participants must bring photo ID and proof of USA Triathlon membership. USA Triathlon rules apply and nonmembers must purchase a one day event license.
Additional logistics include a strict no e bikes policy, no wait list, and a no refund policy. Transfers and deferrals are available for fees; event insurance options are offered during registration. Awards are presented to the top three in each age group by gender category and to First Timers and relay teams. Results are posted within 24 hours of the event.
