Against the Tide : Cape Cod (Brewster, MA)
Against the Tide is a family-friendly, multi-sport event organized to benefit the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC). The event takes place at Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park in Brewster, Massachusetts, and raises funds for MBCC community education, webinar programming, and a student environmental health program.
Event components include a range of open-water swims, certified road races, and a fitness walk:
- USMS-sanctioned 1-mile swim
- Competitive 1-mile swim
- Recreational 1-mile swim
- Recreational 1/2-mile swim
- USATF-certified 5K run
- USATF-certified 10K run
- 3-mile fitness walk
Registration details note that online registration closes the evening before each event and that walk-in registration is available on the morning of the event at a registration tent. Bibs must be picked up at on-site registration; there is no early bib pickup. Refunds are not allowed. Wetsuits are permitted for swim events. No dogs or other pets are allowed on the beach except service animals. Minors under 18 must have parent or guardian authorization and a signed release and indemnity agreement.
Participants may create or join a team during the registration process; new teams cannot be created after registration is complete. Route maps for the swim and run/walk courses are made available by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
