We Out Here Trail Festival - St. Edwards State Park
We Out Here Trail Festival is a multi-day trail event held at St. Edwards State Park on the traditional homelands of the Coast Salish People. The festival centers on making trails welcoming and accessible, with an emphasis on inviting first-time trail runners and participants from underrepresented communities. In 2025, 66% of participants identified as first-time trail runners.
The weekend spans June 12 to June 14 and includes a Friday evening shake-out and packet pickup with a live podcast, a Saturday trail race, and a Sunday brunch and recovery gathering (brunch is priced a la carte).
The race uses a looped course at St. Edwards State Park to concentrate spectator support and keep the route visible for participants. All finishers receive a medal and access to nonalcoholic drinks and snacks in the festival area. The festival area will offer free face painting, children's activities, and other family-oriented features.
Distances offered:
- 1.9 miles (1 loop)
- 3.8 miles (2 loops)
- 5.7 miles (3 loops)
All distances are approximate. A 2-hour time limit is listed.
Event operations include a sustainability initiative to eliminate disposable cups; participants receive a reusable HydraPak SpeedCup. Parking at the park is limited, and a Discovery Pass is required for parking. Organizers recommend lodging near Bothell for easier access. Sponsors include REI, Gu Energy Labs, and HydraPak.
