Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K
The Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K is an annual running and walking event held at Green Lake Park in Seattle. The event coincides with the Thanksgiving holiday and celebrates local sports traditions by encouraging participants to wear university colors or festive costumes. The race is officially chip-timed by Bell Lap Productions.
The course consists of a 5K route on the paved inner loop of Green Lake. The path follows a counter-clockwise direction. Near the end of the loop, participants exit the main path to complete a section around the softball and soccer play fields. The final 200 meters include a slight downhill stretch leading to the finish line near the basketball courts. The course is flat and suitable for participants seeking personal records.
Available distances:

The event includes an awards ceremony for the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 1-11 to 60+. Participants can also take part in a canned food drive by bringing non-perishable donations to the event site to support local food shelters. Post-race hydration and nutrition are provided to participants.
The event is stroller-friendly; however, dogs are not permitted on the course due to insurance regulations. Financial hardship scholarships are available for those who wish to participate but face budget constraints. Bib pickup is available at a local running store in the days leading up to the race or at the park on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
