WCPS Zombie Run (5K Run and 1 Mile Walk)
Presented by the WCPS Employee Wellness Committee, this community event is open to WCPS employees and their families and friends. Registration is free for everyone and a separate registration is required for each participant, including children. Registration windows begin on 2026-09-01; the 5K registration closes 2026-09-01 and the 1 mile walk registration closes 2026-09-02.

Event activities include door prizes, giveaways, chair massages, reflexology, snacks, corn hole, putt putt, fitness Jenga, music, and family activities. There are awards and prize drawings, with a planned awards ceremony for 5K runners.
Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for male and female runners in the following categories: Overall winners; age groups 19 and under; 20 - 39; 40 - 59; and 60 and up. WellAware participants can earn 500 points for participating.
The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine unless the route is unsafe or there is lightning. A limited number of snacks and water will be available. Walkers are asked to stay out of the way of runners, especially at the finish area, and to keep to the right to allow runners to pass on the left.
