Wayside 5k
The Wayside 5k is scheduled for October 3, 2026 at The Wayside Inn 1716 Beer Garden in Sudbury, Massachusetts. The event is a community race organized by the Marlborough Community Foundation in partnership with the Wayside Inn Foundation. The race was created more than 30 years ago, has attracted over 250 runners in the past, and was reintroduced after a recent hiatus to support scholarships and the economic development of the foundations service areas.
The event features a 5K run/walk with options for runners, walkers, family participants, and a corporate challenge. The race is officially timed and will post results after the event. Water stations will be located along the course and portable bathrooms will be onsite. Strollers are allowed but are asked to start at the rear of the field; pets are not permitted except for service animals.
Practical details include packet pickup at the 1716 Beer Garden pavilion on the morning of the race and parking at the field next to the Martha Mary Chapel and the Little Red School House adjacent to Dutton Road. Awards are planned for the top three adult men and women and top youth male and female, with age categories of Youth under 15 and Adult 16 and older. Online registration shows a fee of $39.05 and day of registration is available for $40 by cash or check, with possible Venmo availability. The first 100 registrants are guaranteed a race shirt.
