Waynesville Sunrise Rotary Turkey Trot
The Waynesville Sunrise Rotary Turkey Trot is a 5K held on Thanksgiving Day at the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. The course starts and finishes at Weldon Gymnasium and follows a clockwise loop around Lake Junaluska. There is one water station on course.
Packet pickup is scheduled in the days before the race at Bosu Wine Shop in Waynesville and at the Weldon Outdoor Gymnasium at Lake Junaluska. Race bibs contain timing chips; bibs should be worn on the front and kept flat and visible. Indoor restrooms are adjacent to Weldon Gymnasium when available, with supplemental portable toilets on site.
Children in strollers are permitted and do not require a separate registration. Strollers and participants running with dogs are asked to start near the back of the field. Well behaved and vaccinated dogs are allowed on leash.
Post race refreshments are provided prior to the awards presentation. Awards include prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers, top Masters 40 and over male and female, and first through third in multiple age group categories. The event operates a no refund policy and allows registration transfers for a processing fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
