Event overview
The 15th annual Wauconda Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Wauconda, Illinois. The event starts and finishes on South Main Street near Cook Memorial Park and includes routes that go around Bangs Lake and Cook Memorial Park. Registration includes an early-bird period (Oct 1 - Nov 4) and a regular period (Nov 5 - Nov 26).

- 4-mile race around Bangs Lake
- 2-mile family-friendly fun run/walk around Cook Memorial Park and Main Street
- 2-mile option for kids 10 and under (T-shirt option available)
The 4-mile race is a timed event. Trophies are awarded to the top two finishers in each gender and five-year age category, plus overall awards. Additional awards include turkey trophies for top finishers and other category trophies such as Best Costume. All participants receive an event T-shirt and a medal. Proceeds benefit the Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry, the Wauconda Township Historical Society, and Wauconda High School Future Business Leaders of America.
