Wauconda Turkey Trot

Event details

The 2025 Wauconda Turkey Trot is the 15th annual running event in Wauconda, Illinois, held on November 27, 2025. The venue is listed as 118 South Main Street, Wauconda, IL, with courses that start and finish in front of the Main Street Center. All participants receive an event T-shirt and a medal. Awards include turkey trophies for top finishers and other trophies such as Best Costume. Proceeds benefit the Wauconda / Island Lake Food Pantry, the Wauconda Township Historical Society, and Wauconda High School Future Business Leaders of America.

Race options and registration

• 4-mile - timed race around Bangs Lake, start and finish at Main Street Center
• 2-mile - family-friendly fun run/walk around Cook Memorial Park and back
• Kids 10 & under - 2-mile - option for a child-sized event T-shirt

Registration includes early bird and regular periods: early bird runs Oct 1 – Nov 4; regular registration runs Nov 5 – Nov 26. The kids 10 & under option is available for participants who want an event T-shirt; children may join the 2-mile route without a shirt if not registered for one.
