8th Annual WaterMel Run Walk 5k
The 8th Annual WaterMel Run Walk 5k takes place on August 2, 2026, at American Legion Post 17 in Lewes, DE. Day of race registration is available. The event benefits the MAR-DEL Watermelon Association.

Registration pricing is published in tiers: $33.70 for an early registration period and $39.03 for the later period. Additional post race party tickets cost $12.40. No refunds on registrations and bibs are non-transferable.
Amenities include guaranteed tee shirts for all pre-registered participants, watermelon slices at the finish line, a watermelon eating contest, watermelon "Crushes" for participants age 21 and over, and food and beer for those 21 and over. No dogs are allowed due to insurance liability; event policies apply.
Timing and results are managed with chip timing by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System. Results will be posted online during the race with complete results available after the event. Photos will be posted on the organizer's Facebook page following the event.
Awards follow a watermelon theme and include overall and masters awards by gun time, age-group awards by chip time, awards for top walkers, and an award for the largest team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
