Race into the New Year 5k
This event is a year end running event hosted by the Seashore Striders at the Bandstand, 1 Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE. The main course is an out and back run on the boardwalk north to the entrance of Cape Henlopen State Park at Gordon's Pond and is listed as about 3.1 miles.
Packet pickup will be available the day before the event at the bandstand on Rehoboth Avenue and the boards. A children’s fun run for ages 9 and under is offered free with no registration required and does not include a T shirt. Race timing will use ChronoTrack chip timing.
Registration fee tiers listed for the event include early registration at $30, pre registration at $35 through late December, and a higher late registration fee on race day. Race shirts are long sleeve 100 percent pre shrunk cotton and are guaranteed to participants who pre register by the specified deadline. Refreshments and bagels may be provided when available.
Awards are given for overall male and female, masters male and female, and top three finishers in five year age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over. Parking is available on Rehoboth Avenue and meters are not in effect. The organizer notes a no refund policy with options to transfer, defer, or donate an entry fee.
