Event overview
The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation presents the 15th Annual Hair of the Dog 5K, 1 Mile Walk and the 29th Annual Leo Brady Ocean Plunge on January 1, 2026 in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The event is based at the Bethany Beach Bandstand on the Boardwalk. Onsite registration and packet pick-up are available on December 31 and on New Year’s Day.
Race and course details
The 5K is a single loop that begins near Parkwood and Atlantic Ave and finishes on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk. The 1 Mile non-competitive walk begins at Garfield and Atlantic Ave, follows a loop, and finishes on the boardwalk. The course is described as fast and flat.
Entries, fees and amenities
Entry options listed include single-event and combo registrations, event shirt only, children plunge (16 and under), and team packages. Sample fees shown in the event material include $46.48 for the 5K, $41.16 for the 1 Mile walk, and $41.16 for Plunge Only. Long-sleeve tech tee included as an amenity for many entries. The Leo Brady Plunge post event celebration at The Boathouse is noted as available to wristband holders and the 5K and walk post-event party is associated with Mango’s.
Competition and policies
