Event overview
The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation presents the 15th Annual Hair of the Dog 5K / 1 Mile Walk and the 29th Annual Leo Brady Ocean Plunge on January 1, 2026 in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The event base is the Bethany Beach Bandstand and boardwalk area. Onsite registration and packet pick-up are available the day before and on the event day.

The 5K is one loop finishing on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk. The 1 mile walk starts near Garfield and Atlantic Ave, completes one loop and finishes on the boardwalk. The course is described as fast and flat.
Registration and fees
Online and onsite registration options are offered. Registration fees vary by entry type; example prices listed include roughly $35.83 to $46.48 for the 5K and $30.51 to $41.16 for the 1 mile walk. Combo entries, plunge-only options, children plunge pricing, event shirts, and post-event wristbands are available. Event shirts are long-sleeve tech tees.
