Waterfront 5K - Wellington
Wellington Scottish presents a weekly summer 5 km race series held on Tuesday evenings during the 2026/27 season from 27 October 2026 to 23 March 2027. The event distance is 5 km and races follow a waterfront route that starts near the diving platform and goes past Te Papa, along the bridge by the marina, around Clyde Quay wharf, onto Oriental Bay to the turnaround just past Carlton Gore Road, then returns to the start.
In-person registration and bib pickup, plus bag drop, are at Sports and Rec on Taranaki Street. Online registration is available for individual races. A race fee of $6.50 applies. Prize giving is held after the race and participants must be present and have paid to be eligible for spot prizes.
The course is marshalled at the Clyde Quay wharf turn, the traffic turnaround at the north end of Clyde Quay wharf, and at the turnaround. The waterfront is often used by beachgoers and cyclists during summer, and participants are asked to be courteous to other users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
