Waterfront 5K - Wellington
Wellington Scottish organises a summer series of six 5 km races along Wellington's waterfront during the 2026/27 season, running from 27 October 2026 to 23 March 2027. The series uses a single 5 km course that starts near the link span bridge/diving platform and follows the waterfront past Te Papa, along the bridge by the marina, around Clyde Quay wharf and onto Oriental Bay to a turnaround just past Carlton Gore Road, then returns to the start.
In-person registration and bib pickup are at Sports and Rec, Taranaki Street. Online registration is available for the first race. The entry fee is $6.50. Race bib pick up and bag drop are located at Sports and Rec, Taranaki Street.
The course is marshalled at the Clyde Quay wharf turn, at the traffic turnaround at the north end of Clyde Quay wharf, and at the turnaround. The waterfront is often busy with beachgoers and cyclists during summer, and participants are asked to be courteous to other users. Prize giving takes place after the event and participants must be present and have paid to be eligible for spot prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
