Event Overview
The Washingtonville Scholarship Run is the 31st annual edition of this event. It takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Washingtonville High School on 54 West Main Street in Washingtonville, New York.
Events
The event features three separate activities:
- A 5k Run
- A 5k Walk
- A Kid's Run
The 5k events start at the same time. The Kid's Run for toddlers through fifth grade starts later. Due to construction, the Kid's Run will be held in the Washingtonville High School gymnasium with distances ranging from 50 to 800 meters. Every Kid's Run finisher receives a medal.
Course and Awards
The 5k course is described as fast and flat, primarily on Main Street. It is a USTAF certified course (NY03013AM). For the 5k Run, medals are awarded to the top three finishers in numerous age groups. For the 5k Walk, medals are given in three women's and three men's groups, and runners are disqualified. The top three overall women and men in the 5k receive a custom trophy.
Registration and Details
Race day registration and packet pickup occur in the high school cafeteria from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Entry fees increase after March 14, 2026. A unisex short-sleeve cotton t-shirt is given to all pre-registered 5k participants who sign up by March 14, 2026.
A pasta luncheon sponsored by T&M Deli takes place in the cafeteria after the race, free for participants. There are also Tricky Tray and Raffle Tables with proceeds benefiting the scholarship run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
