Washingtonville Scholarship Run
The Washingtonville Scholarship Run takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Washingtonville, New York. The event starts and finishes at Washingtonville High School, 54 West Main Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992.
The event program includes the following distances:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- Kid's Run
The 5K course is USTFA certified (NY03013AM) and is described as fast and flat along Main Street. The 5K Run awards medals to the top three finishers in each age group: 9 and under, 10-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and up. The 5K Walk is designated for serious walkers; medals are awarded in three women's and three men's groups and walkers will line up at the back of the starting area. Walkers who run will be disqualified.
The Kid's Run is for toddlers through fifth grade and, due to track construction, will take place in the WHS gymnasium with age-appropriate distances from 50 meters to 800 meters. Each finisher in the Kid's Run will receive a medal. T-shirts are provided to 5K run and walk participants who pre-register by March 14, 2026; shirts are unisex short sleeve cotton. The top three overall women and men in the 5K receive custom designed trophies.
A post-race pasta luncheon will be held in the high school cafeteria, sponsored by T&M Deli; participants from the races are free and additional tickets are available for purchase. A raffle and tricky tray will be held to benefit the scholarship fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
