Washington Police Explorers Post 2438 5k Run

The Washington Police Department explorer post hosts its inaugural 5k run in Washington, Missouri. The event takes place at the Washington Riverfront, featuring an out and back route that travels east along the trail. This run is scheduled for the day before National Police Week begins.

Participants receive a finisher medal and a T-shirt as part of the registration fee. The race is chip timed by Affordable Race Timing to provide accurate results. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Washington Police Department explorer post. The funds raised help send participants to the annual week-long St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy. The program is part of the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella and is designed for youth between the ages of 14 and 20 who are interested in learning about law enforcement. Contributions help cover the costs of the academy to ensure that all interested explorers can attend regardless of financial status.

The race follows a single distance: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
