Purpose and participants
Proceeds will help send Explorer post members to the St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, a week-long event in the St. Louis area. The academy costs the post roughly $450 per year; the post covers a majority of that cost so explorers can attend regardless of financial ability. The post hopes to send six to seven explorers with funds raised from this run.
The Explorer program is designed for youth aged 14 to 20 who want to learn about law enforcement and is administered under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella.
