Washington Police Explorers Post 2438 5k Run
The Washington Police Department explorer post is hosting its inaugural 5k run on May 16, 2026, in Washington, Missouri. The event is based at the police department at 301 Jefferson, Washington, MO 63090.
Proceeds will support attendance at the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, a week long program held in the St. Louis area. The academy costs the post roughly $450 per participant each year; the post covers a majority of that cost so explorers can attend regardless of financial ability. The post hopes to send six to seven explorers. The exploring program is designed for youth aged 14 to 20 and is administered under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella.
The registration fee includes a finisher medal and a T-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers. The run will be chip timed by Affordable Race Timing. The route will begin and end at the police department and will be posted when finalized; planned options include an out-and-back along 5th Street or an out-and-back from the police department to Front Street. The published entry price is $40 and the price increases after April 26, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
