Participants receive a race t shirt and a souvenir finisher medal. Awards are given 1st through 3rd overall male and female, and 1st through 3rd in age groups ranging from 14 and under through 90 and up. Post race food and drinks are provided.
Packet pickup occurs at the race venue on the morning of the event and requires a picture ID; someone else may pick up a packet if they present the entrant's ID or a copy of it. All participants wear a timing chip on their bib and must keep the bib facing forward; removing or transferring a bib or chip is not allowed and may result in disqualification.
There are three aid stations located at the entrance of Deer Creek North Trailhead, at the 10k turnaround, and at the half marathon turnaround. Parking is available near the start and finish; carpooling is suggested. Time limits are 4.5 hours for the half marathon and 2.5 hours for the 10k. A course map and point to point instructions are provided and runners are responsible for knowing the course. Early morning temperatures have traditionally ranged from 30 to 50 degrees in September and weather can be variable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
