Wanakee Wilderness 5K
The Wanakee Wilderness 5K is a trail race held at Wanakee in Meredith, New Hampshire on August 14, 2027. The event supports the camp scholarship fund and facility improvements while marking the end of the summer camp season.
The course crosses 227 acres of hills and woodland valleys in the White Mountains and Lakes Region. Runners follow varied trail terrain through northern hardwoods and evergreens, over granite rocks and woodland paths, and pass features named Lemon Squeeze, Look Out Point, and the Waterfront. The route offers trail running elements and scenic views from higher points on the site.
The event day includes an awards ceremony followed by a Homecoming BBQ and camp activities. BBQ tickets are listed at $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12. The Wanakee Wilderness 5K accommodates race participants and spectators; family and friends may attend as competitors or to watch near the finish area.
Wanakee is described as a beautiful spiritual place in the hills. The race is presented as part of the organization’s annual Homecoming, and registration is scheduled to open in late May or early June. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
