Wanakee Wilderness 5K
The Wanakee Wilderness 5K is a trail race held as part of the Wanakee Homecoming. The event’s next target date is August 15, 2026. The 5K supports a camp scholarship fund and ongoing improvements to the camp facility.
The race takes place on a 227 acre site in the White Mountains and Lakes Region of New Hampshire. The course traverses hills and woodland valleys with varied trail terrain through northern hardwoods and evergreens. Runners follow granite rock and woodland paths that pass features named Lemon Squeeze, Look Out Point with views of the Lakes Region, and the Waterfront area.
Family and friends may attend as participants or spectators. After the awards ceremony, the Homecoming includes a barbecue and other camp activities. Barbecue tickets are listed at $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12.
