Event
Walter’s Run on December 14, 2025 is a community 5k run/walk held in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. The race starts and finishes at the Parkway Community YMCA in West Roxbury. The course is rolling, wheel-measured and USATF sanctioned. Chip timing, mile splits, water stops, course security with volunteers and police are provided. The event notes it is in its 31st year and that race proceeds are donated to three local charitable organizations.

Online registration opens 9/8/2025 and closes Saturday, December 13 at noon. Pre-registered runners may pick up bibs and event hats (winter hat for the first 200 early pre-registered 5k entrants) on race day in the YMCA upper lot. Race day registration and in-person registration for the kids fun run are handled at the Parkway YMCA. Before- and after-race gathering and amenities are available upstairs in the YMCA gym. Post-race refreshments include water and limited snacks. Parking is available on surrounding streets and municipal lots; some local business lots that are closed on Sundays may also be used. Awards for winners are announced on a rolling basis, and all kids in the fun run receive medals and candy canes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
