Event details
Walter’s Run takes place on December 14, 2025 in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. The main event is a 5k run/walk that starts and finishes at the Parkway Community YMCA. The race is hosted by Parkway Running Club and the course is wheel-measured and USATF sanctioned. Chip timing, mile splits and at least one water stop are provided. A separate Kids Fun Run is held the same day; the fun run is free and awards medals and candy canes to participants.
Logistics and race day
Online registration opens September 8, 2025 and closes December 13, 2025 at noon. Pre-registered runners may pick up bibs and event hats on race day; race day registration and packet pickup are available in the YMCA. Course security is provided with volunteers and police, and volunteers also direct and cheer along the route. Post-race activities take place indoors in the YMCA gym, with water, limited snacks and award announcements made on a rolling basis. Free local parking is available on surrounding streets and municipal lots; some local business lots may be available when businesses are closed on Sundays.
