The Winter Classic 5K takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The event includes these options:
- 5K in-person
- Virtual 5K
The course begins and ends in downtown Cambridge near Mass Ave and is described as flat.
Registration and fees
Registration prices vary by date: $40 until October 14; $42.50 from October 15 through November 10; $45 from November 11 through December 1; $50 during race week if available. The in-person 5K registration is listed at $50; the virtual 5K is listed at $40. Registration for the in-person event closes December 7, 2025 at 10:00am EST. Virtual registration closes December 7, 2025 at 11:59pm EST.
Swag and awards
Participants may choose either a long sleeve gender-specific technical shirt or a winter running hat when registering. Both items can be obtained for an extra $15. T-shirts are limited to the first 3,200 registered runners and the 2025 shirt color is navy. Race swag must be picked up during bib pick up hours before the race; swag will not be available after the race unless the participant is virtual.
Awards are given to the top 3 overall male, female, and non-binary finishers and to the top 3 male and female finishers in each listed age division. Winners are notified by email the Friday after the race and awards are mailed about two weeks after the race.
