The Walnut Creek Turkey Trot occurs on November 26, 2026 at Civic Park, 1375 Civic Dr, Walnut Creek, CA. The event is presented by Forma Gym and benefits local charities including White Pony Express, Pledge to Humanity and the Forma Kids Foundation.
The event program includes these race distances:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- Kids fun runs: 1/2 mile, 1/4 mile, 100 yard dash
Both the 5K and 10K courses pass through downtown Walnut Creek. The 10K also extends onto the Iron Horse Trail. Both road courses are paved and described as flat. Aid stations along the 5K and 10K will be stocked with water and fluid replacement.
Packet pick-up is at Forma Gym, 1908 Olympic Blvd, with scheduled pickup days the Tuesday and Wednesday before the race; race day packet pick-up is set up near the library at Civic Park. Bibs will include timing chips for the 5K and 10K; timing chips are adhered to the back of the race bib. Runners should wear the bib on the front outermost layer of clothing and should not fold or alter the bib.
The event uses corrals and wave starts for the 10K, 5K and the kids runs; participants should line up in the corral that corresponds with their bib. Age division awards are defined for the 5K and 10K by standard age groups and kids fun runs are not timed; each child finisher receives a custom medal. Awards will be available for pick up starting Monday, December 3 at Forma Gym.
Civic Park is centrally located in downtown Walnut Creek, one block east of North Broadway. Parking is available on nearby downtown streets and in business lots that are closed on Thanksgiving morning. The event is held rain or shine. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
