Walk, Wiggle, Wag & Run
Walk, Wiggle, Wag & Run is a family and pet friendly fundraising event held by the Cape Coral Animal Shelter on March 21, 2026. The event raises funds to support homeless and neglected animals in the shelter's care and to help place them in permanent homes.
The day includes multiple participation options:
- 1 mile fun walk around the shelter
- 5K timed run around the neighborhood
- Virtual 5K not timed
A family package is available for two adults and children 12 and under. Registered participants receive an event shirt and a swag bag; there is a no shirt guarantee after March 6, 2026. Shirt and bib distribution is scheduled the day before at the shelter.
Timing and awards are offered for the 5K with medal placements by age group and male and female categories for human runners. Specialty prize baskets and awards are given for 1st through 3rd place 5K dog runner teams, with honorable mentions for additional team placements.
This is a pet friendly event. Organizers require standard leashes only, prohibit retractable leashes and pronged or choke chain collars, and ask participants to clean up after their pets.
