Walk Run Wag for MADACC - Barktoberfest Edition
Walk Run Wag for MADACC is a dog-friendly fundraising event for Friends of Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) held in Milwaukee at 4600 Estabrook Pkwy on September 26, 2026. The event is held in conjunction with Barktoberfest and includes pet-friendly vendors, adoptable dogs, and activities for both two- and four-legged children.
Distances and formats
- 5K chip-timed; separate start for runners without dogs and runners with dogs
- 2 Miles non-timed walk; walkers may turn around or stop early
The 5K is chip timed and organized with runners without dogs starting before runners with dogs. The 2-mile route is presented as a recreational walk; no awards are given for the walk. A children’s free run/walk is available for ages 10 and under and requires an accompanying adult aged 18 or older. There is also a "Sleep In" registration option for participants who will not attend physically; shirts for that option are mailed to participants. Registration fees vary by event category.
Immediately after the run and walk, Barktoberfest provides additional on-site activities, vendors that are pet friendly, and opportunities to meet adoptable dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
