Walk Run Roar
Walk Run Roar is a community 5K walk and run held in Gwinn, Michigan, at Gilbert Elementary School and nearby Nordeen Park as part of Gwinn Fun Daze. The course uses pavement, dirt, and gravel surfaces.
The event is organized as a fundraiser; reported beneficiaries include Northwoods Airlifeline and childhood cancer support. Participants are eligible for prizes for top finishers and door prizes. On-course or post-race refreshments include water, granola bars, and bananas. Each participant receives a three dollar coupon valid at food vendors in the park on the day of the event.
Nordeen Park hosts additional activities on the same day, including a parade, children's games, a bouncy house, food and craft vendors, a wood working vendor, an antique vehicle show in the field behind the park, a cornhole tournament, and a duck race.
