Shamrock Sprint 1 Mile Race
The Shamrock Sprint 1 Mile Race is an annual running event held in Marquette, Michigan, presented by the Queen City Running Company. This fifth edition of the race features a change to the traditional route, utilizing a point to point course that heads down Pine Street. The event begins at the intersection of Ridge Street.
Participants can choose from two main categories:
- 1 Mile general admission for all ages
- 1 Mile youth division
The race is timed and welcomes participants of all ages. Instead of traditional age group awards, prizes are designated for the top three male and female finishers in the overall standings, as well as the top three boys and girls in the youth division. There is also a specific award for the best dressed participant to recognize creative race attire.
Registration includes an entry to an after party held at a local brewery, where each runner receives a complimentary drink. The event encourages themed clothing, often resulting in a large number of participants wearing green while running along the bike path and street course.
