Event Overview
The Angry Bear 5K is a non-timed fun run organized by Ore Dock Brewing Company and Queen City Running Company in Marquette, Michigan. The event serves as a fundraiser for Special Olympics Michigan Area 36. Participants follow an out-and-back course along the local bike path, starting and finishing at the intersection of Spring Street and Lake Shore, just south of the Bell Tower. The route follows the shoreline to Picnic Rocks before returning to the starting point.
Race Format and Features
This event is structured as a family-friendly fundraiser rather than a competitive race. There is no official awards ceremony, and times are not recorded. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and staff members select five winners for best dressed at the finish line or inside Queen City Running Company. Winners receive a prize bag featuring items from the event organizers.
Registration Details
Participants receive a festival wristband as part of their registration. Runners under the age of 21, who are not permitted on the festival grounds, may exchange this wristband for a specific cup. The race distance is as follows:

The event coincides with the annual Festival of the Angry Bear. Bib pickup is available at Ore Dock Brewing Company on the Thursday and Friday before the race, as well as on the morning of the event at Queen City Running Company.
