Walk for Wildlife : St. Vital Park
Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Inc. is a non-profit that treats injured and orphaned wildlife and aims to release them back into their natural habitat. Funds raised support medication, veterinary visits, food, supplies and enclosure maintenance for wildlife patients. The stated fundraising goal is CA$9,996.
The event offers individual and team options and encourages participants to collect pledges or donations. The meeting location on event day is the Aspen Shelter Site at St. Vital Park. Walk-up registrations are accepted on the day and bibs can be picked up in advance at Assiniboine Park near the Park Cafe.
Registration fees are listed for early and late entry. General registration includes a t-shirt, button and bib. Kid registration for ages 12 and under is CA$20 with a t-shirt or free without a t-shirt, and a parent or guardian must register with the child. No refunds are issued after registration. Post-event provisions include refreshments, a pancake breakfast and a meet and greet with the Wildlife Ambassadors. Prizes are awarded to individuals who raise funds above specified thresholds.
