Focus Africa Run for Aids
The event takes place on June 6, 2026 at St. Vital Park Picnic Shelter, River Road, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. It is organized by Focus Africa in conjunction with the Running Room.
The event includes running and walking options on set distances:
- 5K run
- 3K and 5K walk options
Net proceeds from the event support Beacon of Hope in Kajiado, Kenya. Beacon of Hope is a multi use facility and medical centre that provides HIV AIDS affected women and children with medical care, economic empowerment, education, and community based care. Its programs are expanding to include grandmothers, youth, intern training, and outreach to neighbouring communities.
Participant registration fees go entirely to the Mjali grandmothers program at Beacon of Hope. Donations support the run event and any excess is directed to the Mjali grandmothers program. Registration is available for individual and family entries with family defined as parents or guardians and anyone 21 and under at the same address, up to six participants.
