Event Details

The Walk for Dyslexia 2026 is a community fundraising event supporting the Madison Area Children’s Dyslexia Center. The center provides free, individualized tutoring for children in Dane County who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling.

The event offers both an in-person and a virtual participation option. The in-person event takes place at Brittingham Park in Madison, Wisconsin. Leashed dogs are permitted at the park according to city rules; leashes must be non-retractable and a maximum of six feet long. No timing is provided for participants.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 5K Walk/Fun Run (In-Person)
  • 5K Walk (Virtual)

For the virtual option, participants are encouraged to complete a 5K distance in their own neighborhood or local park, or by tracking steps (approximately 6,000 steps). The event encourages participants to form teams; teams with five or more members receive a registration discount. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
