Spring Forward Community Run
The Spring Forward Half Marathon & 10k is an early-season event held in Madison, Wisconsin. This low-key community run serves as an opportunity for participants to transition into spring after the winter season. The event accommodates two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
The course for the 10k consists of one full lap around the Madison Arboretum. The Half Marathon course follows one lap of the Arboretum, followed by a 1.1 km segment through Vilas Park, and concludes with a second lap of the Arboretum.
The event is organized as a free race, though donations are accepted to help cover operational costs. For the 2026 edition, on-course support and volunteers are provided for three hours following the start. Participants are permitted to continue their run after this time window, but they will do so without official course support.
Registration for the Half Marathon is open to individuals aged 14 and older, while the 10k event is open to those aged 11 and older. During registration, participants are asked to provide an estimated pace to assist organizers in grouping runners with similar goals. This edition may also include pacers to support various target times. Training programs of 8 or 12 weeks are available through a partner athletic club for those preparing for either distance.
