The Wakefield Hospice 5K is a road running event organised by Wakefield Hospice in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The event distance is 5 kilometres and the minimum age for participants is 11. The race shares the same start and finish line as the Wakefield Hospice 10K. Entry is limited to 300 runners.
Course and facilities
The course is a flat, one-lap road route that turns around at the 2.8 km mark and is described as suitable for wheelchairs. Race headquarters are at Thornes Park, Horbury Road, Wakefield WF2 8TY. Parking is available at Trinity Cathedral Academy, Penny Appeal Campus Thornes Park (enter from Thornes Lane), and Westgate Retail & Leisure Park.
Available on the day are water stations, distance markers, toilets, changing facilities, a baggage store and finishers t-shirts. Additional on-site services include food and drink, physio, event commentary, a property tent and medical services. Showers are not available.
Entry, fees and policies
Entry fees are shown as £12.00 to £14.00. Entry on the day is not available. Refunds are offered up to 28 days before the event; entries may be transferred to another runner up to 14 days before the event. Professional photographers will operate at the event and participation gives consent for images to be used for event marketing. Participants accept personal risk and agree to the event terms, including medical information sharing with on-site medical services and compliance with UK Anti-Doping Rules.
