Wakefield Hospice 5k
The Wakefield Hospice 5k is a road running event held in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Entering its second year, the race takes place alongside the established 10k event, sharing the same start and finish lines. The course follows a flat, one-lap route on the road, with a turnaround point located at the 2.8 km mark. Participation is open to runners of all abilities with a minimum age requirement of 11 years.
The event provides several facilities for participants at the Race HQ located in Thornes Park. These include baggage storage, a property tent, toilets, and changing facilities. Medical services, physiotherapy, and water stations are available on-site. While showers are not provided, multiple parking locations are situated nearby at Trinity Cathedral Academy and Westgate Retail & Leisure Park.

The race is limited to 225 participants and requires pre-registration as entry on the day is not available. All finishers receive a commemorative Wakefield Hospice t-shirt. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. The event serves as a fundraiser to support patient care at Wakefield Hospice.
