Golden Acre Relay 2026
The Golden Acre Relay is an evening trail running event held at Golden Acre Park in Leeds. Organized by Abbey Runners, the race features an undulating course through the park grounds. This event is specifically restricted to members of UKA affiliated clubs and requires a team of three runners to participate.
Participants compete in a relay format where each of the three team members completes a single lap. The total distance for each runner is 2.75 miles. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and conducted under UK Athletics rules.
Registration is available for several categories based on gender and age:
- Male Open
- Female Open
- Male Vets (all members aged 35 or older)
- Female Vets (all members aged 35 or older)
- Mixed teams (minimum of one male and one female runner)
- Junior Boys (School Years 8 to 12)
- Junior Girls (School Years 8 to 12)
The race headquarters is situated near the Arthington Road Car Park. Park toilets are available for use, located approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk from the registration area. Participants should note that there are no dedicated changing rooms, showers, baggage storage facilities, or water stations provided on site. The course does not include distance markers and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 150 teams and must be completed online in advance, as no entries are accepted on the day of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
