Prize 10k 2026
The Priory 10k is a midsummer evening race set within the grounds and parkland of Nostell Priory in Wakefield. This National Trust property features a Georgian house surrounded by landscaped gardens, meadowland, and lakeside walks. The event consists of multiple distance options held on a Wednesday evening in July:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2.5 km fun run
The course is a multi-terrain and undulating route that transitions between various surfaces, including tarmac, well-surfaced paths, and grass tracks. For the 10 km distance, participants complete two laps, with the second lap being shorter than the initial circuit. The start and finish lines are located directly in front of the main house. Because of the terrain and course profile, the race is not suitable for wheelchair entries.
The event utilizes chip timing for all participants, and finishers across all distances receive a race memento. Spectators can view the runners passing by three different times from locations near the facilities at the Stable Block.
Facilities at the site include toilets, baggage storage, and water stations, though no changing or shower facilities are available. Free parking is provided on the Nostell estate, and the on-site cafe remains open late for the duration of the event. The race has an entry limit of 500 participants and registration must be completed in advance as there is no entry available on the day.
