Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival 5K and 1 Mile
The Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival hosts a selection of running and walking events centered at NorthWood Middle School in Wakarusa, Indiana. This community gathering offers multiple participation options including shorter distances and a combination entry for those wishing to complete multiple events.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Combo (5K and 1 Mile)
The 1 Mile event is divided into specific heats, including a category for children aged 12 and under, and a competitive section for participants aged 13 and older. For the 5K and the combo option, participants must be at least 6 years old on the day of the race. The 1 Mile for children is open to those between the ages of 4 and 12.
The courses are timed using electronic chips provided by Watts My Time. Strollers are permitted in all events, though participants using them are responsible for safety. Bicycles, scooters, skates, and rollerblades are prohibited on the course. While certified service animals are allowed, pets are not permitted at the event.
Packet pick-up is available at NorthWood Middle School on the Friday evening before the race and on the morning of the event. Official event t-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by mid-March, with a registration discount available for those who opt out of receiving a shirt.
