The Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival 5K is a running and walking event held on Saturday, April 25, 2026. It is part of the local Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival. The event takes place at NorthWood Middle School, located at 301 North Elkhart Street in Wakarusa, Indiana.
Available Races
Participants can choose from several events:
- Maple Syrup 5K Run/Walk
- Maple 1-Mile Kids Run for participants aged 12 and under
- Maple 1-Mile Competitive Run/Walk for ages 13 and older
- A Combo option to participate in both the 1-Mile and the 5K events.
Participant Information
There are age requirements for each event. For the 5K and Combo, participants must be at least 6 years old. The kids' 1-mile run is for ages 4-12, and the competitive 1-mile is for ages 13 and older. Strollers are welcome in all events. Pets are not allowed, except for certified service animals.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available on Friday, April 24, at the American Legion (114 W Waterford St) from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, which is encouraged. Race day pickup is at NorthWood Middle School from 6:00 AM to 7:50 AM. Parking is available at NorthWood Middle School and Wakarusa Elementary School. The event uses chip timing.
